Whether you’re going to work or you just need a few hours a day to get things done around the house, enrolling in a child care center is an option. Here are a few ways to prepare your child for the new environment and the people they might see.
Routines
A way to prepare for going to a Jeffersontown child care center is to try to implement some of the same routines that your child might experience during the day. You can find out the schedule from the center that you’ve chosen to take your child to so that you know how long they spend doing everything from learning during the day to playing outside.
Visit the Center
Try to take a few tours of a Jeffersontown child care center at different times of the day. This will allow your child to see what takes place when children are playing, what they might eat, and meet the providers. You can usually request to visit when the children are eating lunch or when they are playing outside so that your child is able to interact with everyone for at least a short time.
Groups
Sometimes, children might not like being in large groups. This is something that you’ll need to work with before going to a child care center since there will be at least a few children in each class. Consider going to a library for storytime or going to the park with friends who have children so that they can all play together.
